I have been healed, blessed, and comforted many times during the years in which I have been a student of Christian Science.
One healing for which I am very grateful is that of chronic sick headaches. These plagued me almost constantly during childhood and young womanhood. In order to obtain relief, I resorted to sedatives, but these only tended to stupefy. It was felt that my eyes might be the cause of the difficulty, so glasses were prescribed. After wearing these faithfully for several years, periodically returning to the oculist to have my eyes tested, with the invariable report that there was need to wear even stronger lenses, I finally put the glasses aside as useless. At that time, however, I knew nothing of Christian Science, and the struggle to see was rather difficult. I had reached the point where I could hardly do without glasses, and yet to wear them made me extremely nervous.
About four years after laying them aside, I took up the study of Christian Science, and the improvement in eyesight has been so marked that I have obtained a driver's license without glasses, and I can read for long periods without any ill effect. Of course, after commencing the study of Christian Science, I dropped all material remedies and applied the teachings of the master Christian, Christ Jesus, as revealed to this age by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
