In gratitude for and obedience to the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, which provides for the publishing of testimonies of healing in the Christian Science periodicals, testimonies which have brought inspiration to me, I add my praise to God for His goodness.
Christian Science teaches and demonstrates that "with God all things are possible." This truth has been proved to me many times. I have been healed of fatigue, corns, headaches, sunburn, social drinking, constipation, fear, pain, and physical injuries; problems of supply and human relationship have been met and lost articles recovered. I have had instantaneous healings of burns, and I was instantly healed of influenza through treatment by a Christian Science practitioner, and my daughter was instantly healed of eczema. I am thankful for the divine protection I received in a motor car accident. The car turned upside down and there was much broken glass, but so complete was the practitioner's work that not even bruises appeared. I am grateful to this practitioner and all our consecrated practitioners, who are about the Father's business of blessing all mankind.
I love our textbooks, the Holy Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and our Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and I desire to express gratitude for a growing understanding of Science. I was quickly healed of a cold through reading the following passage, on page 3 of Science and Health, which appeared in one of our weekly Lesson-Sermons: "If we are ungrateful for Life, Truth, and Love, and yet return thanks to God for all blessings, we are insincere and incur the sharp censure our Master pronounces on hypocrites. In such a case, the only acceptable prayer is to put the finger on the lips and remember our blessings."
