It is with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science that I write this testimony. In Isaiah we read (65: 24), "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." I had the opportunity of proving these words some time ago when I was stricken very suddenly with severe pain and vomiting. I was unable to go to the telephone to call for help, but my husband, who is not a Christian Scientist, called the practitioner for me, and I was instantly healed. I was so grateful to have my husband witness this proof of the healing power of Truth.
My first healing in Christian Science came through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. It was a healing of ulcers of the stomach. I had suffered for fifteen years and had tried every remedy the doctors could suggest. At one time I was rushed to a hospital and given only water for forty-eight hours, but I experienced no relief. I was instantly healed of the difficulty, however, when Christian Science treatment was given, and I have never had a return of the complaint. The citation in Science and Health which was helpful to me is found on page 325: "He who has the true idea of good loses all sense of evil, and by reason of this is being ushered into the undying realities of Spirit." I have also been healed of colds, tonsillitis, sick headaches of long standing, sprained ankles, and many other inharmonies. I have seen many healings take place in my family, some through the help of practitioners and some through our own work.
At a time when I needed money for my periodicals, the suggestion came, "That is all you have; you can't send that." I refused to listen and renewed the subscriptions. That was thirteen years ago, and since I took my stand for the truth that real supply is spiritual, my every human need has been met.
