Each day I am more grateful to God for Christian Science. My first healing was of faulty eyesight. A few days after I began studying this Science I sat down to read and forgot all about my glasses, which I had worn for several years. When I thought of them again, I could not remember when I had last used them. I found I could read with perfect freedom, and I have since done much fine sewing and crocheting without any material aid.
I am grateful for many healings, including those of severe burns, cuts, bruises, headaches, and for protection while driving the car. Our two girls were healed of poor sight with the help of devoted practitioners. Some time ago they were divinely protected from a large and angry rattlesnake. Two winters ago there was a severe epidemic of measles in our county . A child had the measles and according to medical laws had exposed all the children in school. Parents of the children were much disturbed and rushed them to the doctors. Work was done in Christian Science for our children, and I studied what Mrs. Eddy says on pages 153 and 154 of Science and Health regarding contagion. Also I recalled an article I had read in a Christian Science Sentinel which had been very helpful to me. The girls realized that God is All and that the children of God are immune to disease. We were glad that our children were protected and that not another child in the school had the disease.
I am happy to be a member of The Mother Church. I am grateful for the lecturers the periodicals, and the poems in them, particularly for two which definitely met my need at the time I read them. I especially want to express my gratitude for our home in the country, where we have found peace and quiet and time to meditate on the things of God.—Fulton, Missouri.
