The testimonies of healing I have read for so many years in the Christian Science periodicals have helped me very much, and I now submit my expression of gratitude in the hope that it may help others who are seeking the truth.
I attended a Christian Science Sunday School when a young girl. At this time, with the help of a practitioner, I experienced a complete healing of pneumonia. But when I went out to work in the business world, I lost sight of and the desire for Christian Science. I subjected myself to the temptations of animal magnetism in the forms of discontent, poor workmanship, misplacement, and so forth. Later, when I married and my husband, who was in the Marine Corps, was sent to the Pacific area during the Second World War, I again turned earnestly to God in prayer. Mortal mind clamored loud for entrance into my thinking regarding my husband's safety during the missions which he was on But with the realization of God's allness I was able to deny reality to the evils that the war was presenting, and as a consequence peace came into my consciousness. My husband returned safely to the United States many, many months later.
When our daughter was three months of age, f listened to mortal mind's temptations again and took her to a doctor to be weighed and to inquire whether the child was being properly fed. Upon examination the doctor announced that our daughter had a crossed eye and was tongue-tied, and he recommended that shots be given her for various diseases. When I left the doctor's office very much ashamed of myself, I called a practitioner and went to see her. For this dear worker's help in clearing away the mist for me, I am indeed grateful. In a very short time I was thinking clearly again, as we are taught in Christian Science. The baby's eye is now normal, and her speech at two years of age is clear, with no evidence whatsoever of the condition of tongue-tie.
