From the February 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In humble gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I should like to give the following testimony.

One morning our son, who was recovering from an attack of influenza, suddenly and without warning was taken alarmingly ill. The child appeared to be passing on; and I rushed to a nearby practitioner for help, leaving my husband holding the child and audibly repeating, "God is your Life; hold on to God."

When I returned with the practitioner, she seated herself by the boy with an arm around the limp body, silently working; gradually vitality began to manifest itself, and the child raised his head and smiled. He was asked to repeat the Lord's Prayer with the practitioner. He began in a firm, clear voice, but about halfway through he stopped, showing signs of confusion. He was told that that would be enough for the moment. Shortly afterward the boy was able to go through the whole prayer without any sign of difficulty or confusion. Later in the day he was up and going about the house as usual. Although the condition had been of a very serious nature, there were no aftereffects or convalescence.
