Poems

Reassurance

From the February 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Out of the depths of doubt and fear we cry,
Even as Moses, saying, "Who am I,
That I should go unto Pharaoh?" Must I too
Face evil's power and prove its claims untrue?

Yes, loved one, there is still no other way
Out of earth's darkness into perfect day.
Stand firmly then, as Moses did, and know
The truths he knew. And should progress seem slow,
Be not discouraged. Listen. "Certainly,"
Assures the Father, "I will be with thee."
