I should like to share the healings which have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. I learned of this Science from a neighbor, who often told me how people were healed of their difficulties by reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. From visits to her home I was aware of how much time she spent reading this book, for there was always an open copy nearby. I became interested in Christian Science and attended services in a Church of Christ, Scientist. Soon I was ready to purchase my own copy of the textbook, and did so.
A short time after beginning to read Science and Health I was healed of constipation, a difficulty which had troubled me since early childhood. Only a little while before purchasing the textbook I had bought a large bottle of cathartic pills; but one morning I decided to take my stand for Truth. The pills were thrown out, and from that day forth I have been free from that disorder.
If was later healed of an internal growth. As a result of Christian Science treatment, the growth passed painlessly from my body. Prior to this I had suffered attacks of pain in m side which were so severe that I could hardly breathe. One day I became conscious of a great sense of love. "Love is the liberator," our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says on page 225 of Science and Health, I felt no pain or fear, only the harmonious operation of divine Mind. Then the growth disappeared in the manner described. It was as our Leader tells us (ibid., p. 569), "He that touches the hem of Christ's robe and masters his mortal beliefs, animality, and hate, rejoices in the proof of healing.— in a sweet and certain sense that God is Love." I shall never cease to be grateful to the loving practitioner who stood by me during that tying time.
