Christian Science has met my every need when properly applied. Some healings have been slow, while others have been instantaneous. Truth does heal permanently. This has been proved time and again in our family over the past thirty years.
Christian Science came to my attention through a neighbor, who exemplified this religion to such an extent that it broke down the prejudice and antagonism caused by the wrong concept of Christian Science which I had been entertaining. My first healing was of a nervous sick headache, a kind to which doctors told me I would always be subject. I was healed through a few moments' metaphysical work by the neighbor referred to, and there has never been a recurrence.
While attending summer camp my son was healed of a second-degree burn caused by his spilling a pan of scalding water on his ankle and foot. The boy telephoned home as soon as possible for help in Christian Science. He was told to hold to the truth that the substance of God, the only substance there is, is pure and holy. Work was taken up for him in Christian Science, and he was brought home, where he could have proper care given him. A few days later, while I was dressing the foot, he and I talked of the substance of God. We both were quite inspired and uplifted. The next morning the ankle and foot were covered with new skin, which was without blemish. This healing has been outstanding in my thought because it nullified so-called medical laws mentioned to the boy at the time of the accident.
