"Be still, and know that I am God." Be still
And know? How can we know this God, unseen.
Unheard, to mortal sense intangible,
Who dwells not in stone temples, whose demesne
Has no strict boundaries, no armed defense,
Yet is held in the hollow of His hand.
Did ever king so trust his citizens
To carry in their hearts their native land?
This is the spirit of a love so great
It cannot be ignored, misunderstood.
Thus shines the glory of a sovereign state
Ruled by omniscient, omnipresent good.
Be still, O heaven-born, and look within—
Learn God as He is and has always been.
