Christian Science has given direction to my life, and I am humbly grateful that I am learning to conform my life to the Christ-principle it elucidates.
I have been able to reject and exclude from my experience the label "a sickly child." When Christian Science was introduced to me I was much underweight and suffering from heart trouble, a throat infection, and chronic fatigue, as well as from homesickness, indecision, and other discordant conditions. A copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was presented to me, and from the moment I began reading it my experience began changing. I read it through twice, putting it down scarcely long enough to eat my meals or to take a normal amount of rest.
The heart condition was overcome through the knowledge that my strength was in proportion to my purity. Afterward the other difficulties were mastered, and the truths of Christian Science became my unfailing physician. I have never since been comfortless. My heart is rich with gratitude for the faithful practitioner whose Christlike affection supported me as I took my first steps in gaining an understanding of Christian Science.
