With a heart filled with gratitude I wish to testify to the many blessings and healings I have received through Christian Science. It came to our family at a time when very deep anxiety and distress reigned in our home. The doctors had predicted a life of invalidism for my wife. A friend who knew of Christian Science came to see her and said, "Cling steadfastly to the thought that God can heal all your diseases." Work was taken up in Christian Science, and within a very short time the healing was complete. Through Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and other Christian Science literature, we learned of the healing truth which this Science brings to mankind. At the same time I was healed of a severe stomach complaint.
During the years of World War II and the postwar years we had so many proofs of protection and guidance that it is impossible to relate them all. I should like to tell of one wonderful proof of divine protection I experienced while at my work as a coal miner. Through Christian Science I had learned that I should realize God's presence at all times. On this particular day these words kept running through my mind (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 77):
God is my strong salvation;
What foe have I to fear?
