The secret of the Lord, or the mystery of Life which men have sought to fathom, is revealed in Christian Science as the allness and oneness of God. His omnipresence occupies all space and contains within itself all that God creates. God's omnipotence excludes the operation of evil, and in divine intelligence there is no belief in anything besides infinite good.
Because God is All, He is all the Life, substance, reality, that exists, and nothing is true unless it is of God. That which partakes not of the divine nature, however supported it may seem to be by material evidence or law, can be proved to be unreal. So the rewards of knowing the secret of the Lord are the destruction of discord and the healing of sickness and sin.
Mary Baker Eddy's discovery of Christian Science shows how far she had entered into the secret of the Lord, or as St. Paul writes, "the mystery of Christ" (Eph. 3:4). In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy opens "the scientific statement of being" with this ringing declaration of reality (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."
