Such prosperity lies in gaining and applying a clear spiritual understanding of God's power to meet human needs.
The unfoldment of needed spiritual enlightenment is the purpose of the healing Cause of Christian Science, represented by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and its branches throughout the world. Mary Baker Eddy established The Mother Church and its branches, designed "to reflect in some degree the Church Universal and Triumphant" (Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, p. 19). Our Church, rich in spiritual substance, is surely capable of triumphing over all that is not good, including the false belief of lack.
Christ Jesus demonstrated the ever-presence of inexhaustible spiritual substance when he multiplied the needed food supplies in a desert place to feed the multitude. According to the Biblical account, after all had eaten sufficiently there were yet generous portions remaining. Jesus comprehended the Science of spiritual substance, which was clearly apparent to him where to the mortals around him material lack seemed prevalent. This spiritual perception of the unlimited substance of Spirit, God, enabled him to banish promptly the human belief of lack. Adequate and abundant supply came forthwith.
