"How Can a Book Bring Healing?" When I heard these words announced as the title of a broadcast in The Mother Church radio series, "How Christian Science Heals," I knew the time had come for me to share with others how Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy healed me.
While working for a family during a vacation from school I noticed a copy of Science and Health, I cautiously picked it up and read a few words, skipping from chapter to chapter. None of it meant much to me, and I hurriedly laid it down. A few days later I picked it up again and read, this time becoming somewhat interested in its contents.
As I recall, I had read in this book three or four times and not more than ten minutes at a time, when something happened. I discovered that I could read plainly without my glasses, which I had been told I should always have to use when reading. I was so surprised that I went into the yard and found for the first time I could see the mountains in the distance clearly. Sometime prior to going to this home, it had been necessary for me to have my eyes examined, and the best oculist in town had told me that I had astigmatism.
