It is with great joy that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. It found me at a time of great unhappiness and ill-health. I was suffering from mental depression said to be inherited from my father and grandmother and was taking medicine almost daily for at least three different complaints. All these conditions have been healed in Christian Science as my concept of God and man has been changed and as I have grown in some small degree to understand divine Love to be my only parent. I can truthfully say with the Psalmist (Ps. 18:16), "He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters."
Several years ago an internal displacement developed. I suffered much pain and discomfort, and my physical activity was greatly impeded. While I never doubted that Christian Science heals, I often doubted that I had sufficient courage or understanding to prove this fact.
During this period I had a great deal of help at different times from practitioners, to whom I am grateful. I am especially grateful for the loving and patient work of one practitioner; she encouraged me to place complete reliance on Truth and assured me again and again that such reliance must inevitably be rewarded by victory. This practitioner showed me that I was suffering not from the physical condition, but from a false belief which had never touched my real being, since in reality I had never for a moment ceased to express the perfection inherent in the image and likeness of God.
