While reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, a copy of which was loaned to me by my sister-in-law, I realized that smoking is a form of bondage, and I was freed from the temptation to indulge in it. This first contact with Christian Science also freed me from prejudice against it, and two years later I was ready to turn completely to Science for healing when I was suffering from a severe skin irritation. After reading the textbook for two weeks I realized I was free, but I did not know when this healing had taken place.
Since then I have been freed from the bane of frequent and severe headaches, the tendency to take cold easily, and a sense of annoyance, which was often followed by attacks of a skin disease. A broken or dislocated toe was healed in a few hours with a practitioner's help. My love goes out to the sister-in-law I have mentioned for introducing me to Christian Science and for her years of consecration to good.
Our home has become a symbol to me of God's all-inclusive love, operating through the practice of Christian Science to unify, correct, and sustain every right activity. Happier relationships have gone hand in hand with the overcoming of many physical difficulties that had beset me before my life began anew in Christian Science.
