I have had so much help from the testimonies in our periodicals that in gratitude I feel I must send mine. I first heard of Christian Science over forty years ago, and since that time it has met my every need. I have been healed of appendicitis, septic sore throat, a badly infected leg, and many other difficulties that were not disagnosed by the medical profession.
A few years ago, when in the garden, I was bitten in the eye by an insect. I brushed the insect away and thought little of the experience. The next day a rash spread over most of my body. Even the soles of my feet were covered. I had little sleep because of the intense irritation. Mrs. Eddy's words on page 463 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," were very helpful: "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." After a time the irritation began to subside, but it was followed by symptoms of poisoning throughout the whole system. During the long nights I got much comfort from the Christian Science Hymnal.
The complete healing took over a year, but it has been permanent. I am so grateful for the protection I had at this time. I was Reader in a Christian Science Society and was able to carry on with my work the whole time. Nobody except me knew of my difficulty.
