In Job we read (11: 14, 15): "If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles. For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear." And Christ Jesus said (Matt. 15:13), "Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up." The truth of these statements has been proved in my experience.

Some time ago a rather small growth appeared on my neck. At first I tried to prove its unreality through my own prayers. As it did not give me any great amount of physical discomfort, I was inclined to be apathetic and halfhearted in my work. From time to time, when it bothered me, I had help from practitioners, but the growth became larger.

Finally, after I started teaching school, I found that the children were noticing the growth and asking questions about it. Also, relatives were suggesting that I have the growth removed by surgery or other material means. These suggestions began to give me a great deal of mental discomfort. Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, states in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 101), "Discomfort under error is preferable to comfort." I called upon a practitioner to help me and firmly resolved that I would continue with the work until the healing was complete.
