"My heart is singing: I have found the way." These words from Hymn No. 64 in the Christian Science Hymnal express the joy of living that the study and application of Christian Science have brought into my experience. I have been able to demonstrate this truth to the extent of gaining health where once there was sickness, abundance in place of lack, and intelligent cooperation in place of inharmonious relationships which once existed.
The following experience is like a shining light to me. After many days of faithful studying for the purpose of gaining more spiritual understanding, I awakened one morning with the thought of Paul's healing of the young man who had fallen from the third floor. After considering this story which came to me so clearly and forcibly I felt a great sense of joy and peace in my heart.
Later I went from my room into a dark hallway. In the dark I misjudged my way and ran full force into the edge of a closet wall. The collision resulted in much pain. I repeated "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and also these words from page 393 of the same book: "Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation." Then I went back to my room and sat before the window looking out at the light of dawn.
