FACING FACTS

From the July 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Basic facts are essential for right estimates, evaluations, conclusions, and proofs if one is to succeed in any worthy human endeavor. Indeed, the obtaining of facts and their practical application in daily living generally determine the degree of one's achievement.

Fundamental facts concerning God, man, and the universe offer humanity the maximum of good here and now. Christian Science, elucidating the teachings of Christ Jesus, reveals spiritual facts, or absolute truths of God and His creation, so comprehensively yet so simply that children often grasp and prove these truths. Anyone, through persistence, obedience, and consecration, can understand, enjoy, and prove the spiritual truths of Christian Science for himself.

The basic fact of this Science is God's allness. Seven synonyms for God are used in Christian Science to express the nature of Deity: Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love. The allness of God, good, excludes the possibility of an opposite.
