The Real Man Has No Foe

From the July 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Science challenges the false marauding foe
Of latent evil haunting human life
And bids us be alert and wise to know
Truth's power, which frees from sin and calms earth's strife.

As we throw off the bonds opposed to Soul,
Escape imprisoning walls of personal sense.
Break earth's magnetic currents' false control,
Which wars against divine omnipotence,

And as we rise above temptation's hold,
Which gravitates to earth, serene above
We find man's native sphere in Spirit's fold,
In light-orbed latitudes of boundless Love.

Where Love is All, the peace of God prevails;
Throughout Love's holy realm no ill betides.
No foe within Love's heavenly gates assails;
In Love's pure consciousness real man abides.
