I am deeply grateful for some understanding of Christian Science. It is more than thirty-five years since I learned of this great Truth, and I have had many proofs of its healing power during this period.
I should like to tell of some of the healings and blessings Science has brought into my life, and I hope that they will help others. My first healing was that of grief over the passing of a son. This healing brought me a great sense of harmony and peace. I am indeed grateful to the practitioner whose love and tireless work lifted me above sorrow.
Soon after this healing and before I had become an earnest student of Science, my little daughter was taken very ill with a high fever and abdominal swelling. The doctor who was called in said he could not give us much hope for the child's life. I then called a Christian Science practitioner, who gave absent treatment. This was at noon on Sunday. On Monday morning when I entered the child's room I found that she was up and getting dressed. I told her she must not get up, and she exclaimed, "I am well, and I want to get up." And she was perfectly well. This healing was a great surprise to our neighbors and to all that knew of it. This same little girl is now a grandmother; she has reared her children in Christian Science, and each of her two daughters is a member of The Mother Church and a branch church.
