I was a small child when Christian Science healed my mother of a case of Bright's disease which had been pronounced incurable. In the Christian Science Sunday School I accepted the fundamental truths of God's goodness and His unfailing care of His beloved children so readily and used them so successfully that I was fully protected from various forms of inharmony. Realizing man's reflection of divine Mind as the only intelligence was an invaluable aid during my school years and later in the business world. In several instances I was marvelously protected from accident and contagion. On one occasion I was the only one of our office personnel of eight who did not succumb to influenza.
Obstacles to my spiritual growth and development were overcome at the time I was preparing to take class instruction. My two weeks' vacation period was set for the date of the meeting, and my plans were being made for that joyous experience. About three months before this date, however, my employer announced that vacation periods henceforth would have to be cut to ten days' time.
This announcement was something of a shock, since it meant that I would not have enough time for class instruction. But almost immediately I received a short note from the teacher with whom I was enrolled. Although knowing nothing of this latest development, the teacher included in the letter a firm statement that progress is a law of God and cannot be impeded in any way. I knew that this powerful fact would banish any obstruction. Anxious concern disappeared at once, and I was confident that all details would fall into place harmoniously. I went ahead with my plans.
