In Isaiah we read (43:2, 3): "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour." I am most grateful for a fuller understanding of the actual meaning of this text from the Bible, and it is through the teachings of Christian Science that I have gained this understanding.

When a friend and I were returning by car from a most enjoyable holiday at the home of other friends, a large car driven at a high rate of speed struck our car and turned it completely over. I well remember that we both said aloud "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. We were taken to a hospital by an ambulance. However, within two hours we departed from the hospital without having had any treatment.

We returned to our friends whom we had left and were met with a great expression of love. A Christian Science practitioner was called and gave help, for which we are most grateful. Although we were both badly bruised and shaken, we had no open wounds, and in two days we were quite fit to make a train journey of about three hours to our home.
