With deep and humble gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and for all humanity, I submit this testimony. As the result of a spinal injury caused by a fall on an icy, cobblestone street, I suffered almost continuous pain for six years. I wore a brace which I had been told I would always need. Walking, sitting, or standing for any length of time was impossible, and simple motions such as opening a drawer or reaching to turn off a light had caused me to spend weeks in bed.
A serious colon ailment had also developed, and I was put on a strict diet which I was advised I would always need to follow. My eyes too had begun to cause much pain, and for almost a year I had not been able to see well enough to read. I could not work, and all my savings had been spent.
In desperation I turned to Christian Science and was soon healed of all these difficulties. Do you wonder that I am grateful? A Christian Science practitioner gave me treatment through scientific prayer, while a friend read to me from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and from the Christian Science periodicals. Soon by using a magnifying glass along with the glasses which I had worn for years, I read a little for myself. One night, while studying Science and Health, I knew my eyes were healed.
