About five years ago, two experiences occurred in my life: one was the most harmonious I have ever known; the other was the most discordant I have ever faced. The results of these two experiences proved to me beyond a shadow of doubt that I can always turn to Christian Science with calm assurance and confidence to deal with any problem that might arise in the future.
The harmonious experience was the arrival of our second child. Prior to the birth, I had made weekly visits to the office of a Christian Science practitioner in a specific endeavor to spiritualize my concept of what was taking place. The inspiration and enlightenment which I received during this period resulted in banishing all my fear and bringing about rich blessings in many directions.
The doctor who attended the birth, which took place in our home, was very friendly and co-operative. He found it necessary to be in our home less than thirty minutes; but before he left, he told my husband that in all the years since the beginning of his internship, he had never seen a more fearless, natural, or harmonious childbirth, and he gave to Christian Science the entire credit. He said he felt sure that all babies should be born in a natural and happy atmosphere.
