According to Christian Science, which interprets the Scriptures, all right thinking is based on the unequivocal acknowledgment that God, good, is the only Mind, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, and that this one Mind is the Mind of man, God's image and likeness. Obviously, then, the one all-harmonious Mind contains and imparts no element of evil; and neither does man, who derives all from his creator. The real man knows only good thoughts, God's thoughts.
Evil's pretense to reality and existence is seen as false when mankind ceases believing it. Evil can be excluded from consciousness and from experience, through the correction and spiritualization of one's thought. The question is, How do we go about demonstrating our invulnerability to the insistent claims of mortal belief? Paul gives us an answer in his epistle to the Ephesians, where he says (6:10, 11): "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
One may then ask, What is this invincible armor? A much-loved and' often-quoted statement by Mary Baker Eddy reads (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 210): "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them. It is plain that nothing can be added to the mind already full. There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness. Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort. And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited."
