From early childhood I knew that Christian Science would bring peace and healing, because I saw this fact exemplified in the life of my grandmother. Although my parents were not students of Science, I am grateful that they felt kindly toward this religion.
At one time my baby sister was ill. The family doctor had been in attendance, but there was no apparent change. Finally medical treatment was discontinued, and my parents telephoned a Christian Science practitioner in a nearby town for treatment. Almost immediately there was a change for the better, and soon the child was well. This quick healing made a great impression on me.
However, I did not begin studying this Science in earnest until I was living away from home in another city and was employed in a business office. Missing the guidance of my family and feeling the worry as well as the strain of my first experience in the business world, I did not sleep well at night. I told a friend I was undecided whether to see a doctor or a Christian Science practitioner, and I shall always be grateful for her reply. She said, "If Christian Science can do all you tell me it has done for your grandmother, why don't you see a practitioner?" I gladly took her advice, and soon I was sleeping all night and feeling well and happy again.
