GLORIFYING GOD

From the August 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The whole purpose of being is to glorify God, to acknowledge Him as the Almighty, the only creator, power, and presence. We honor God not only in words but even more in deeds, through the exemplification in our lives of His complete nature.

Paul counseled the Corinthians (I Cor. 6:20), "Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." Could there be a more complete statement of the extent to which we are to glorify God? Are we not counseled to give all glory to Him?

And how are we to glorify God wholly? Christian Science points out how this is to be done and also refers to the benefits which follow from magnifying God in everyday experience.
