GOD'S IMAGE VERSUS IMAGINATIONS

From the August 1958 issue of The Christian Science Journal

God and His reflection constitute all that exists. Man, the image of God, is the highest idea of God, and man is spiritual, not material. It is false, material sense which suggests that something is wrong with God's creation. This suggestion is always a lie, for there is nothing wrong with God's reflection, because there is nothing wrong with God.

When things seem wrong, no one likes to be told, "Oh, you just imagine it." But we learn through studying Christian Science and living this beautiful truth day by day that all that is not good is actually an imagination or illusion of the carnal mind.

The remedy which dispels false imaginations is the refusal to act upon error's suggestions. In II Corinthians we read (10:3-5), "We do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
