FRUITFUL ACTIVITY

From the December 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The great love of Mrs. Eddy for mankind enabled her to give, in a form which all may understand and use, the complete statement of Christian Science in Science and Health. Evidence of some of the immediate results of her work can be found in the chapter entitled "Fruitage." The accounts of healing therein related were the direct results of reading and studying this textbook.

Any conscientious student soon finds that he too can use in his everyday affairs the truths which he learns from a study of this book. As he understands more and more of the truths of God and of man, made in His spiritual image and likeness, he will find enlarged opportunities for victory over sickness, sin, and inharmonies of every kind, which are all false beliefs. Because of his endeavors to use the truth he is assimilating, his progress will be sure, and he will see the fruits of his work in healing and regeneration.

Activity becomes more fruitful when one overcomes a sense of barrenness and futility in oneself and when one does not accept as legitimate for others sickness, lack, limitation, or any other form of discord. Our application of the truth, insofar as we understand it, brings spiritual enlightenment and healing. Thus is revealed to us the fact that because God is All-in-all, man's real spiritual activity is to express Him and that this activity cannot for one moment be interrupted by the false claims of materialism in whatever guise they are presented.
