I Have had the benefit of Christian Science teaching since early childhood, and it has never failed to meet my need when properly applied. When I was a child, my mother was healed of chronic appendicitis through the study of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and with the aid of a Christian Science practitioner.
It was not, however, until after I married and had a home of my own that I seriously began to study this Science. I realized then that much of the harmony I had theretofore experienced had been achieved not through my own efforts but through my relying on family and friends. Many problems have been overcome since then through my own application of the truth, and I am sincerely grateful.
On two different occasions our daughter, when a baby, was restored to health in a matter of hours after attacks of convulsions. She grew to womanhood free from most of the so-called children's diseases, and the few times she seemed to succumb to these beliefs, they were quickly overcome through our reliance on God as we understand Him through the study of Christian Science.
