Love's Panoply

From the February 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Then Balak, King of Moab, filled with fear,
Sent messengers to Balaam, asking aid
And begging him to use his mighty power
To help destroy the Israelites. The seer
Must well have known that man whom God hath made
Is always safe and never needs to cower
In doubt and fear. He said, "How shall I curse,
Whom God hath not?" Our loving God rules all
In harmony. The man of wisdom said,
"And he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse."

The man who trusts in God is surely clad
In armor which is utterly complete.
The Bible says that "God created man
In his own image," and the words repeat
That "God blessed them." This is His mighty plan.
