I have had healings in Christian Science that I would have termed miraculous prior to my study of it. I have now learned the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health which reads (Pref., p. xi), "Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural."
Soon after beginning the study of Christian Science, I was healed very quickly of chronic sore throat. I had suffered from a throat condition from early childhood, and nothing, including the removal of the tonsils, had given me permanent relief.
One night this condition became very painful; I picked up Science and Health and began to read, stopping occasionally to ponder what I had read. My reasoning was very elementary, for I knew very little of Christian Science. I remember thinking, "If this is the truth, and I believe that it is, then here is an opportunity to prove it."
