Over forty years ago I began the study of Christian Science, and since then I have relied on it exclusively for physical healing and for other help in times of need. At the time I began my study of it, I was suffering from a severe nervous breakdown and was very unhappy. I was also resentful, sensitive, and unloving. Through the study of the Bible and of Science and Health, I soon realized that my condition was not physical but mental. I recognized more clearly every day that all I needed was a correction in my thinking in regard to people and things.
Church attendance was not one of my pursuits. But as I continued studying the Bible and Science and Health, I soon felt a great desire to attend services. A sister who had also become interested in Christian Science invited me to attend with her.
At this particular Sunday service the first hymn we sang was Mrs. Eddy's poem "'Feed my Sheep,'" the first verse of which reads (Poems, p. 14),
