In January, 1962, two new editions of The Herald of Christian Science will be launched by The Christian Science Publishing Society. Their languages will be, respectively, Japanese and Bahasa Indonesia. These publications indicate the spread of scientific Christianity and the readiness of The Mother Church to meet the need of people in these countries who desire to know something of this healing religion.
After mentioning the other periodicals and stating the distinctive mission of each, Mary Baker Eddy then refers to the first non-English periodical and its mission: "The third, Der Herold der Christian Science, to proclaim the universal activity and availability of Truth" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 353). The Herald has added editions in other languages since the German edition was issued, each proclaiming Mrs. Eddy's glorious discovery, each bringing to its particular language group the discussions of Christian Science that fit its needs. Each edition has expanded the recognition of the Science of Christ, the Science which Jesus perfectly demonstrated.
The Master came to prove the presence of God's kingdom and the means for growing spiritually until all mankind is ready to discern the realm of reality. His mission was universal because God's kingdom is universal—excluding no individual. Jesus knew the power of the Christ, God's immaculate idea, to reveal the truth to all men. He said (Matt. 13:33), "The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened."
