Man is not suggestible. He does not have a consciousness which can entertain suggestions. The glorious revelation of Christian Science is that God is the only Mind and that man has no mind, no consciousness, but God. And since God, or Mind, cannot have a substratum, true consciousness can have none.
This fundamental truth of Christian Science is clearly set forth in the writings of Mrs. Eddy. An illuminating explanation is given in the chapter entitled "A Colloquy" in her book "Unity of Good." Here she has Good say: "All consciousness is Mind; and Mind is God,—an infinite, and not a finite consciousness. This consciousness is reflected in individual consciousness, or man, whose source is infinite Mind. There is no really finite mind, no finite consciousness" (p. 24). Again on the same page Good says, "I am the infinite All. From me proceedeth all Mind, all consciousness, all individuality, all being. My Mind is divine good, and cannot drift into evil."
Since "all consciousness is Mind," this precludes the possibility of there being any unconscious or subconscious mind. The infinite divine Mind is not suggestible, nor can it be subverted by the introduction of false suggestions. This is why man, the image and likeness, or perfect reflection, of God is not suggestible and cannot be subverted or suborned by evil suggestions.
