"IN SIMPLE TRUST"

From the November 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The following words strike a responsive chord in the hearts of Christian Scientists (Christian Science Hymnal, Hymn No. 49):

In simple trust like theirs who heard,
Beside the Syrian sea,
The gracious calling of the Lord,
Let us, like them, without a word
Rise up and follow thee.

It should not be considered difficult to gain the good practice of trusting God simply, for in the simplicity or purity of His Word is power. All we are required to do each moment is the present task, entrusting every day to God and His guidance.
