LET'S FACE IT!

From the December 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Is there a situation in our lives that has never been resolved, a difficulty that has never been cleared up? If so, let us face it with decisiveness and apply the spiritual laws of Truth that will heal it! To solve any problem that is disturbing us, we must use the intelligence with which God, the divine Mind, has endowed His creation.

Christian Science shows us how to deal with the perplexities of daily life in the way that will bring about their harmonious adjustment. In working out a problem, the Christian Scientist always begins with the truths of God's nature. Since "God created man in his own image" (Gen. 1:27), man's nature can be discovered through a knowledge of the great First Cause. The divine Mind is perfect Principle; hence there can be no imperfection in man, Mind's image or idea. The effect of the creative Mind must express the creator. Therefore the true man and universe do not contain a single disturbing or unsolvable problem.

The Christian Scientist has a divine ideal based upon the revelation of the perfect and complete nature of spiritual being. When his outward experience does not coincide with this ideal, the method of the Scientist is to keep his thought fixed on the divinely real, knowing that there are not two creations, a spiritual and a material. He perceives that there is but one perfect creation and that he beholds this universe with the spiritual senses.
