I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to God for Christian Science, for the many blessings and experiences of protection that I have had through its study during many years, and also for the victory over the claim of defective hearing.
I awoke one winter morning with a dull sense of hearing. Straightway the blame was directed to the fact that the window had been left wide open all night. The condition was not given immediate attention, nor did I feel any concern about a recovery, confident that with my own daily study and praying, which we do in Christian Science, the dullness of the ear would be overcome. But it did not yield. For some time I went along this way, with apparently no good results.
Then I knew I must make a greater spiritual effort. The description of man given by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health was helpful. It states clearly (p. 475): "Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique. He is the compound idea of God, including all right ideas."
