THERE is a deep yearning among earnest students of Christian Science, and among mankind in general, for Truth. This includes the true sense of any situation confronting them, whether it be a business problem, a social or family relationship, a physical condition, or any other phase of human experience.
Were a man on trial before a court where conflicting evidence had been presented, he would make every effort to find reputable and reliable witnesses to establish without any doubt the truth of the situation. No case can ever be won on the basis of evidence presented by witnesses who have been found to be untruthful. So we, in searching for an answer to our yearning for Truth, must seek earnestly for witnesses whose evidence is clear and unquestionably true. Those impregnable witnesses to Truth are Christ Jesus and Christian Science.
Brought for trial before Pilate, Jesus said (John 18:37): "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." Then Pilate asked the question which comes to all of us, "What is truth?" Jesus could have given him a detailed answer to his question, but far more telling than any answer were his works, especially the events of the hours and days which immediately followed.
