LIFTING THOUGHT HIGHER

From the April 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

WHAT a wonderful creation is man as understood in Christian Science: his being a compound of divine qualities, his heritage an inexhaustible blessing, his future a continuity of harmony!

The first chapter of Genesis states that God created man. Man, the creation of Spirit, did not, then, evolve from materiality. This same Biblical statement sets forth the fact that man is God's image. Man's oneness with God is thus established with Scriptural authority.

There is nothing between God and man, no time, no space, no person, no matter, no flesh, no false theory. It is comforting to remember that all through the ages the man of God's creating has been free, unaffected by interference or inability, unhindered by a belief of material heredity or environment, insulated from sin, sickness, and death by his very God-given nature.
