Christian Science was presented to me by two neighbors when our first child was a baby. At that time the baby had a severe illness which resulted in mastoid trouble in one ear. It was our neighbors' opportunity to present to me the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I then asked for the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and as the result of his prayers, the ear soon drained and was healed through spiritual means alone.
I began reading the textbook out of curiosity. I discovered that it answered my many questions about God and illuminated the Scriptures. I knew I had found the truth. I could not comprehend it all, but I continued to study and to put into practice what I did understand.
My first healing through my own spiritual understanding of God was that of a bee sting. On previous occasions such a sting had always resulted in a badly swollen condition, but this time there were no bad effects. I shall never forget the joy of this first proof of the healing efficacy of Christian Science.
