For the priceless privilege of having attended a Christian Science Sunday School, I shall be eternally grateful. But it was not until several years after our marriage that my husband and I became earnest students of Science.
When we began its study and applied the truths we were learning, much good unfolded in our experience because we realized that man's Father-Mother God gives only health, joy, perfection, and abundance to His beloved children, His spiritual ideas. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 470,) "Man is the expression of God's being." Through this scientific understanding of God and His perfect reflection, man, our family have experienced complete healings of rupture, epilepsy, broken bones, nervous exhaustion, and the smoking and drinking habits.
Soon after we had turned to Science, our six-year-old son, who had attended the Christian Science Sunday School for only a few weeks, became seriously ill. Treatment by means of prayer was begun for him by a Christian Science practitioner, who was also his Sunday School teacher. I shall always be grateful for the love and calm assurance expressed by this practitioner, whose clear understanding of the child of God sustained us in our time of need. We prayed earnestly, but I feared the child would soon pass on because he appeared to be losing consciousness.
