Testimonies of Healing

After describing in "Unity of Good"...

From the November 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

After describing in "Unity of Good" several types of healings which she had accomplished, Mrs. Eddy states (p. 7), "Certain self-proved propositions pour into my waiting thought in connection with these experiences; and here is one such conviction: that an acknowledgment of the perfection of the infinite Unseen confers a power nothing else can."

The importance of such an acknowledgment and also of the absolute perfection of man as the reflection "of the infinite Unseen" was very forcibly and beautifully demonstrated in my experience. I awakened one morning with a feeling of general uneasiness and spells of dizziness. I immediately declared the truth of man's freedom from any and all forms of error, as we are taught this freedom in Christian Science. I knew that because man is the image and likeness of God, divine Love, he has only what his loving Father-Mother God gives him. I tried to realize that in reality there is only one kind of man, the man God created, and that my true selfhood is that of God's man. I also studied the current Lesson-Sermon, set out in the Quarterly.

I was able to go to my work, but by lunchtime I was so much worse that I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. This was prayerfully given, and I returned to my work. As the afternoon passed, the recurring dizziness was accompanied by nausea and loss of equilibrium, and it became wise for me to go home.
