Through the study and practice of Christian Science and with the help of a practitioner, I have been blessed during the last three years or so with many physical healings, as well as healings of fear, sorrow, a sense of limitation, a bad temper, swearing, and alcoholic drinking.
I should like first to tell how I found Science. My wife had passed on. Thinking I could drown my sorrow, I began to drink heavily. In about six months I had an internal disturbance and went to see a doctor. After I had had medical treatment for about three months, fear became so great that I thought the end was near. I even contemplated suicide. I could not drive an automobile because of a fear that someone was going to hit me. I had completely given up. I was on a strict diet and had lost much weight. I was also badly in debt and in need of daily supplies.
One day the telephone rang. A Christian Science practitioner, for whom I had done some painting two years previously, wanted me to do some more work for him. I told him I could not do it because I was sick. I knew nothing of Science except that I had heard of healings through it.
