Jesus was able to handle with authority whatever problems arose because he was always conscious of his unity with God. His understanding of man as God's perfect image brought the Christ, the spiritual idea of sonship, to bear on human consciousness, and the result was healing. His spiritualized thought was a blessing to all.
In proportion as we are conscious of our unity with God we shall be able to apply the spiritual idea of sonship to our thought of young people, and we shall see them manifesting more of their true characteristics.
It is particularly rewarding when we are working out our relation with teen-agers, who appear to be children in uneven transition to adulthood, to study Mrs. Eddy's definition of "children" found in Science and Health. It reads (pp. 582, 583):
