Christian Science has been the greatest...

From the March 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has been the greatest blessing that has come into my life. I was reared in Science and attended Sunday School until the age of twenty. However, it was not until many years after I had graduated from college that I realized it was not enough to attend church or casually to read the weekly Lesson-Sermons, indicated in the Christian Science Quarterly. I had always relied on my parents for healing or on the work of Christian Science practitioners. Finally it was pointed out to me that I could rely on no one for the working out of my salvation. This was a matter between God and me. Then I began to study Science earnestly and with much inspiration.

I have experienced numerous healings; but perhaps the most significant result of my study has been the regeneration Science has brought me. It has given my life a purpose and established my joy.

One healing I am grateful for is that of warts. For years I had warts on my hands, but I never prayed specifically about them. One day, shortly after I had taken class instruction, I was speaking to a practitioner over the telephone, and I recall mentioning the fact that so many beautiful truths had unfolded to me that I could not understand why I still had warts on my hands. Clearly I remember her loving question, "Can anything grow on a spiritual idea?" And, of course, I replied that it could not.
