When I was quite young my family became interested in Christian Science as the result of a healing of my mother. At a gathering of mutual friends, she had met a Christian Science practitioner, who told her a little about this, to Mother, new religion. What was said so impressed her that a few days later when a severe infection developed in her throat she telephoned this practitioner, who lived in a city about twenty-five miles away, and asked for treatment. This was late in the evening.
The next morning, upon awakening, she found she was entirely healed. This was so beautifully startling that a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was purchased, and the regular study of the weekly Lesson-Sermon, outlined in the Quarterly, was commenced by the entire family. The more I studied Christian Science, even though a child, the more I loved it, and I soon started to attend a Christian Science Sunday-School.
Every problem in my school and college years was solved through my application of Christian Science. Later, however, when I got into an exciting business experience closely associated with a very pleasant social setup, Christian Science was given little or no attention. During this time I took a step which seemed humanly good but which resulted unhappily. The experience impelled me to return to my study of Science. I made a sincere effort to live in complete accord with its teachings and to put it first in all my activities.
